Arrindell first performed at the theatre in 1976 when he played Cassio in Othello which was directed by Mervyn Williams. That summer he also played Berowne in David Conville's Love's Labour's Lost. He returned the following season to revive the role of Berowne, and also went on to play King Henry V in Shakespeare's Henry V.
