Bernard Bresslaw
Bernard Bresslaw was an English comic actor, best remembered as a member of the Carry On films team. He was very loyal to the Park, and having first appeared in 1968 as Launce in The Two Gentlemen of Verona, he would return numerous times over the next 25 years. One of his last stage performances was as Malvolio in Twelfth Night (1990), where he demonstrated the fine line between pathos and comedy to perfection. Bresslaw died of a sudden heart attack on 11 June 1993. He had collapsed in his dressing room at the Open Air Theatre in Regent's Park, London, where he was to play Grumio in The Taming of the Shrew. His diary in 1993 read "What a joy to return to play at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre for another season. There is nowhere I would rather be."
