High Society (2003)
Music and Lyrics by Cole Porter
Book by Arthur Kopit
High Society was originally based on Philip Barry's 1939 comedy, The Philadelphia Story. This production at the Open Air Theatre was directed by Ian Talbot, and featured Annette McLaughlin Tracie Bennett amongst the cast. Bennett was loved by critics, who dubbed her as "an exquisitely brash Liz Imbrie" (The Guardian), and she was nominated for an Olivier Award for 'Best Supporting Actress'. The production also received an Olivier Award nominated as ‘Best Revival of a Musical', and it subsequently embarked on a UK Tour produced by Mark Goucher and Adam Kenwright.
