A Midsummer Night's Dream (1939)
by William Shakespeare
Nigel Ferguson directed this 1939 production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, the first to take place at the Open Air Theatre after war broke out across Europe. Performances were limited to matinees and had reduced set and costumes but, nonetheless, continued, making the theatre one of only two London theatres to remain open during the war.
