Dame Irene Vanbrugh DBE

Irene Vanbrugh was a renowned actress who had roles written for her by playwrights such as J M Barrie, Bernard Shaw and Noël Coward. In 1937 she played Misstress Page to her sister, Violet's, Mistress Ford in The Merry Wives of Windsor at Regent's Park.
